Puppy Preschool will help your pup learn coping mechanisms, experience less stress, and become a more confident, well-adjusted dog.

 

The best time to start your puppy’s learning journey is from 8 weeks of age (the imprinting age), but evidence shows that there is a lot to be gained from continuing regular coaching and socialisation through to at least 1 year of age.

What is socialisation?

Socialisation means learning to interact safely and comfortably with other people, other dogs, and cope with the big wide world outside of home. It’s not just playtime! It builds confidence in walking, playing, learning and exploring.

Our course will help your puppy learn obedience skills, toileting behaviour and key social skills. All of these things help make your relationship with your dog more rewarding for the years to come.

We run a 4-week Puppy Preschool Program at our clinic. Using our progressive and positive learning techniques you will:

​

• Develop an understanding of normal puppy behaviour, learn how to read your puppy’s body language and respond appropriately.

• Develop effective techniques for positive behavioural development.

• Understand the need for socialising your puppy.

• Learn important tips about walking in public areas.

• Find out how to protect your puppy against common parasites and diseases.

• Understand important boundaries when playing together.

• Develop strong bonds between you and your puppy

 

The most important thing about puppy pre-school is ‘start early’. Beginning socialisation and training in the "imprinting window" will maximise the positive impact on your puppy's development.
